The Ashers meet in the Session Room. Leader: variety
This Sunday School class, as one early member said, began long ago. At some point the class was named for its former meeting place, All Saint's Hall; the initials ASH became Asher, so the Asher Class.
We consider that one of our strong points as a class is the participation, without pressure, of all members who desire to speak. This sharing engenders an in-depth study of the Scripture because various versions of the Bible are used by members and many prepare in advance for the class discussion.
The Asher Class is an informal, friendly group who enjoy being together, who share their joys and needs, and who have some fun thrown in. We are open to all who would like to visit and/or join us on our Biblical journeys.
The Fellowship Class meets in the Parlor.
Amy Briley is the class coordinator. The group enjoys meeting on Sunday mornings to share in fellowship and discuss parenting topics.
The Phoebe Class meets in the McJunkin Room. Leader: Mrs. Cyndi Banks
This class is discussion based and is currently working on a study of "Prayers and Confessions" in the Spiritual Practices for Everyday Life series.
The Seekers meet in the Carmical Room. Leader: Mrs. Marian Osborne Berky
The Seekers class seeks to live into the Kingdom of God through study and service. The group's studies rotate through Bible, spiritual works, and encouragement in Christian living in the world. Use is made of a variety of resources including books, tapes, videos as well as a rotating set of wildly diverse teachers (Doc Giddings, Rev. Beverly Kelly, Rev. Kathy Chamlee, Leslie Flynn, Ken Roper, Jo Anne Gessell). There is lively, challenging discussion among the seekers who span 25-90 years of life experience. The Seekers are currently studying "New Light from Old Stories."
